Our Story

Back in the Autumn of 2018 a small group of like-minded people came together and the idea of Baby Stuff Braintree began. Karen March, Community Engagement Worker at Carousel Family Hub had plans to develop a Baby Bank and already had one volunteer, Sarah Lee, sorting clothes for the clothing exchange at the Centre. She then met Gervase Vernon and Kim Griffiths who had a similar vision. They decided to work together and over the next few months established a small team of volunteers and a Board of Trustees. By the Spring of 2019 Baby Stuff Braintree was operational and celebrated this with a very well attended official opening in October 2019.

We have continued to work in partnership with Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, which is delivered by HCRG care group and Barnardo’s.
